Trip out East: Day 5, 6, & 7 (Katy's birthday!)

So after how my last post about the trip ended you probably wondered if I really would post more on the trip. I am happy to say that I am! When posting Day 4 I was looking at pictures trying to figure out what had happened when basted on when the pictures said they were taken...bad idea because the dates on some of the pictures were messed up and so I ended up getting very confused!!! Turns out that I knew all along what had happened on Day 5 I just got temporally confused.

Soooo day 5 really wasn't very exciting at all, neither was day 6 so this will be a kinda boring post....
Anyway Day 5 (Friday) we headed over to the Mark Twain house. Which was pretty cool. But they didn't let us take pictures inside, which wasn't very cool, I but understood why cause they had a lot of stuff that was original to house (i.e. very old) so flash could harm it and there wasn't much light in some of the rooms so you'd have to use flash get good pictures.

After Mark Twain's house we went back to Katy's house and played Trivial Pursuit and didn't really do anything worth posting about. But it was still a fun day.

Day 6 (Saturday)
Katy worked! :( I was feeling pretty sick, so I just stayed at the Allies and mostly just slept but I also helped Mrs. Allie make a birthday banner for Katy and run some other errands with her. Then when Katy got home we hung out and didn't really do anything worth posting about. But it was still fun. And the eye swelling was starting to go down which was nice! Although I still felt pretty much like a toxic train wreck. 
Mom and Dad on the other hand spent the day driving and going to different caves. I would have gone, if I wasn't sick. They said they had fun, and that the caves were cool.

Day 7 (Sunday) KATY'S BIRTHDAY!
Since I did not post anything about Katy's birthday then I'm doing it now!

Anyway that morning we got up went to church and then that afternoon we went on a little walk around the UCONN campus.

on campus they have this big stone that was carved to look like a book, Mrs. Allie tried opening it,  it was hard to do but she did! jk....

Then me and Katy sat on it and got a picture with Daniel standing there. Also that building behind us is where Daniel works. 

I climbed a tree! :) It was a really easy tree to climb too, you can't really see it but I am actually a couple feet off the ground! :D

We also went in the library, and I think I simply like this picture because of all the books! :D

After the tour of campus we went back to the Allies and got ready for Katy's birthday cookout! :)

I got to meet Katy's really good friends Burnie and Dale and their younger brother Luke, which was really cool! :)

The cookout was a lot of fun, I got to meet some of the people Katy is always telling me about, plus there was cake so it was all good! :D

That evening after everyone left Katy and I watched Prince Caspian. :D or part of it anyway. Not saying it was a highlight of the trip...but it was a highlight of the trip. ;) jp.

Tune in next time for Day 8! Which was a somewhat sad day because it was our last full day with the Allies but it was also a really really fun day because we did some really cool stuff! Anyway more on that when I post about it! :D

Trip out East: Day 4

OMIGOSH! you all! You have no idea how HARD it was choosing which pictures to post and which not to because with over 300 there are just soo many!
Anyway so day 4 was also a really nice day! :) Mrs. Allie and Katy really wanted to take us to this amazing living history village in Massachusetts called Sturbridge Village. It was one of the coolest things we did and I could have spent at least another hole day there but sadly there wasn't time. I mean really this place had me considering packing my bags and moving to Massy just to work at this place! I was in love with it and even though there were school kids jammed into every corner I immensely enjoyed the place!

yeah it's unusual for me to wear sunglasses but... as some of you may know I was sick on the trip and so I wasn't feeling amazing that day, actually anything but amazing, more like a train caring toxic chemicals had wrecked inside my head and all the chemicals were oozing out slowly. ICK! oh yeah and on that train one of the cars exploded or something because my eye hurt! hehe and I was wearing sunglasses to hide the fact that my eye was all pink and swollen, thankfully most the puss was gone.  (worst part of having pink eye was the puss!!! :P and the general miserable feeling, but I think part of that was the allergies that I also had going on...)

Anyhow we had lots of fun and saw lots of cool things! 

Thompson Bank, where we learned about banking in the 1840s, also my brother-in-law is a Thompson, that's a banker so I had to get a picture. lol :D

This is balcony in the Friends Meeting House, the floor is slanted, I would not have been allowed to sit up there because the temptation to roll balls down it would be tooo great!

At lunch we had a nice little picnic under a tree by were we parked, Katy and I both took a picture of out feet... I also tried climbing that tree. (I think a symptom of pink eye must be a strange urge to climb trees cause normally I don't bother even trying to climb them but the hole trip I wanted to climb trees!)

Derrick doing one of the demonstration, he did the demonstrations of all the mills, and he was nice and answered all our questions! :)  

the afternoon was spent going to mill demonstrations, and looking at other random buildings and houses.

I loved the way this room was painted!! and if I could I would probably paint my room in a similar way. Also this room was a ballroom at one time which I thought was cool. now they have bed in it and some tables

there was also this one little house that had some interactive stuff, like trying on clothes and a rope bed. I dressed up for the fun of it, but none of the dresses fit... 

And that pretty much ended day 4, we went back to the Allies ate dinner and watched a movie before bed (I think).

Also a completely random note that has nothing to do with the trip out east. Recently Mongoo, Payton and I were talking and decided that Mongoo should give Payton and I something to write about, we would both write something and post it on our blogs (hers is Dwelling in the Secret Place if you want to keep an eye out for whenever she posts our writting assignment) soo as soon as I get it written I'm gonna post on here. And remember to look back for Day 5 of the trip sometime (if I can even remember what we did on Day 5...?)! 

Trip out East: Connecticut Day 3!

We arrived in CT about 9:30 or 10 the night of day 2, had some really good tea and then everyone else went to bed while Katy and I stayed up late talking. ;)

The next day we kinda just chilled most the day, not really doing anything that interesting, kinda planning what to do the rest of the week. Till that afternoon we decided to go over to the Nathan Hale Homestead which was only like 15 minutes away and was on the list of things to do.

We evidently have like amazing timing because we got there right after all the school groups left for the day! Anyway the people there were really nice! and we got our own privet tour of the place! 

I learned a lot! (like did you know that they had flat irons back then? :-o) And although they don't normally let people take pictures in the house the lady giving our tour let me take some without flash. :) (like I said they were really nice!)


Turns out Nathan himself did not live in the house that's on the property now, his family did though, and he grew up on the property, just in a much smaller house that is no longer standing. But it was still really interesting learning about his family and the way people lived back then. And there was some of Nathan's stuff in the house!

One thing I hadn't realized was that that famous line "I only regret that I have but life to loose for my country." that Nathan Hale said right before his death? Yeah it was actually a famous line from a British play! Not actually something he came up with spire of the moment like I thought.

There were some other little buildings there too, we didn't go into them.

After that we went back to Katy's and climbed a tree, and chilled more. Only to have more adventures the next day! :) But that I will tell you about later, cause it will be at least one post all of it's own! (I took over 300 pictures day 4 and we were only at the place for less then one day! Give you an idea how awesome I thought this place was?)

Trip out East! Day 1 & 2

Okay before you all start going "This is really old" truth is, yes it is really old! I've had this sitting in the drafts for a couple months now. Kinda forgot about it...oops. 

Sooo since my two most faithful (and most the time I think my only) readers said they wanted more, more they are getting! lol
First off just so you all know, I'm not gonna post anything near all the pictures we took! Considering the final number was something around 2,704 give or take some. And of those probably about half didn't turn out as awesome as I had hoped.
Anyway so Day 1!

Day 1 we headed out towards Chicago because I had never been there before, so I was pretty excited. :) lol

 We made a stop at Union Station, it was really cool and made me want to ride a train again even more I already had wanted to!

Since we didn't have much time we didn't go to the Willis Tower, but we drove right past it.

Then we drove and drove and ended up somewhere in Ohio, and thus began the trip!

Day 2:the morning!

We started driving again and we were by LAKE ERIE!!!!!! If you were wondering for reasons I now forget Lake Erie is my favorite of the Great Lakes, so I was really excited to  get out of the car and make a short stop at a beach on Lake Erie!

So then we drove and drove and ended up in Niagara NY, which was cool! 
Day 2: the afternoon

Niagara Falls was pretty cool (minus a couple discomforts that I won't bother going into detail about.), especially seeing Canada across the way was really cool! (sadly we didn't get to go into Canada b/c we ran out of time)

How is life? I haven't posted in awhile, what else is new? Wellll....as it happens to beeeeee....there is something new.

We were pretty happy to be together!

Which was really awesome if you were wondering and it makes the rest of the trip seem kinda lame... even though we did do a lot of cool stuff! :) And because there are soooo many cool pictures I am going to turn this into more then one post! Actually this is also sorta a scheme to make myself post more... ;) wahaha! But I thought you all might like that idea? Maybe? Cause if not I don't have to post about the time at all so just leave me a comment and if you all actually show some interest in this I'll actually do it! ;) (okay this is also a scheme to get you to comment! hehehe!)

random randomness tends to be random randomly. and jelly beans.

Hello!!! So.....yeah...Preciosa and I are being our crazy awesome selves and posting random things on our blogs. So since she posted about popcorn on my blog then...I'll post about...
Jelly beans!!!!!
Yes, jelly beans. That sometimes yummy, sometimes awful, sometimes "eh" kind of candy. I used to eat jelly beans even if they were awful. Now I don't really bother anymore. I only eat the awesome ones!!!
The Starburst ones are best in my opinion, and I also like the black licorice jelly beans. Any of those generic, fairly large jelly beans that are some fake fruit flavor are usually fairly gross, at least to me.
How about Jelly Belly ones?? Those are good, at least some flavors; I really like the cherry and the root beer flavors.
So if you get any jelly beans for Easter, my advice is to only eat the yummy ones!!!

in truth I didn't like jelly beans till a couple years ago...and I still only like some of the flavors. But if you get the right flavor jelly beans are awesome! :)

spiders

SURPRISE! I'm posting again!!! And what's up with the title? Because yes it's very true, I am deathly afraid of those creepy crawly eight legged MONSTERS! But this post was sorta requested by my friend Payton who strangely actually likes spiders, in fact she likes them so much that I had to stop opening picture messages from her for the safety of my phone's screen (no really! true story, I seriously felt like smashing my phone's screen ever time a spider picture from her came in!). Sadly that kinda made her mad and she hasn't texted me in a long time now... Anyway Payton did not ask me to talk about spiders, if you were wondering, she just said that I should post again for her, or something like that and I didn't know what to talk about and spiders came to mind, which also means that I now feel like I have a dozen of those things crawling all over me, not a pleasant feeling.
So moving on now, how about Nancy Drew mystery computer games? Anyone else enjoy playing those? I'm staring at my box of them right now and wishing I had a computer i could play them on because it has been way to long since I got to solve the exciting mysteries Nancy Drew has to solve.  Does anyone have a favorite of the Nancy Drew mystery computer games? I have not played near all of them but of the ones that I have played my favorites are Secret of Shadow Ranch (<3 Cowboy Dave!!!!!!) and the Final Scene, I mean it's hard to beat Brady Armstrong's line "This is hard for me, I think my hairline might be receding!!" and of course Bess Marvin's "You mean like soap, that's just called soap."

So anyway I decided to do something out of the ordinary and actually post something! I know shocking! But hey I'll remind you again that I am NOT the one who made this blog in the first place so you can't really get mad at me for not posting for months and months. Besides that it seems like the hole blogging thing is being forgotten by most people these days. But hey brownie points for the first person to actually read this! :D
Well anyway I guess maybe since I'm actually posting I should do a little update on my life...oh wait nothing really has changed so never mind I won't update you on that.
LOL now I'm actually wondering why I decided to post in the first place...probably cause I'm not cleaning my room like I should. Oh hey that's something that has changed, my six foot long light chain broke today...so now it's only like four feet long which means that I can no longer turn the light on and off from almost anywhere in my room, but I am currently thinking of ways to fix this problem. ;) wahahaha. ;D
Well in other news Rene and I have had a game of Dubs going on since around the time I posted last (I know you really wanted to know that, and also I was just thinking about it). :D If you are wondering how we are STILL playing the game we've actually only seen each other a few times since starting it and like two of times we didn't play it but also it's a two deck game when dubs is normally only played with one. Yeah we didn't know what we were getting ourselves into. So just remember unless you want to spend several days playing the same game for hours on end ONLY PLAY DUBS WITH ONE DECK OF CARDS! However games like Stress and Spit are very fun and don't take THAT much longer with mutable decks of cards.
Well anyway this really is going nowhere what so ever so maybe I'll tell you my thoughts on pizza... It is very very yummy and I think the world would be happier if we all just ate pizza more often, because how could anyone be sad when stuffing their face with that bready cheesy tomatoey yumminess?! Okay don't answer that one because I just remembered once when I was sad while eating pizza because well never mind but my point being that it's really yummy and MOST the time it cheers me up. And now you are going "this girl is weird" and that my readers is very very true and you should run for your life now because I hear that weirdness is contagious. ;) Then again if you want to be weird then stick around because you might catch some weirdness.
So anyway has anyone else ever googled flying squirrels? They're actually kinda creepy looking and it makes me glad I have never actually encountered one and that they don't live around here... people compare them to bat evidently but all the bats I've ever seen are really tiny and cute looking (well till they start flying at your face but that's only happened once.) these things look big and...well actually they sorta reminded me of those weird pancakey alien things from that one Star Trek episode. (if you have no idea what I'm  talking about those pancakey alien things attack you and make you go insane and then you die...and the only way to kill them is with like uv rays or something like that and so you go blind, unless you're vulcan then you only temporarily go blind. Anyway needless to say they made me not want to eat pancakes for awhile.)
Well it's getting late, I hope everyone has a great weekend! oh and that you don't get attacked by either flying squirrels or weird pancakey alien things!
